As most children, I loved to color and draw and finger paint, as well. Then I graduated to oil painting as my mother was a painter and did beautiful landscapes and metal trays. I remember my first painting - it was of 'Wendy the Witch!' :) I still see it in my mind's eye. Not bad. :)

Looking ahead, I was the vice president of my art club in high school. I took art lessons in oils and loved it! I started painting on a regular basis, selling my first painting, a floral, to my mother's friend from VA. It's always encouraging to get paid for something you have created. My husband and I lived in Idaho for five years and during that time I took pastel lessons and fell in love with that medium. I showed my art at a fair in Twin Falls and sold a large still life.

Painting in oils and pastels continued on and off, and at this time in my life I am in full swing painting in oils and am in the process of opening my own studio to paint and to sell my form of art I call, Spirit Art. I have been on a spiritual path since age fifteen, and just a year ago I received a message from Spirit to 'just paint COLOR!' I never question what Spirit tells me or advises, so I set out my paint supplies, and with canvas before me and brush in hand, I proceeded to paint 'COLORS!' This painting is special...I titled it, 'The Chakras.' I received several compliments on it and have several paintings on my studio walls and am looking forward to painting some especially to offer here on Fine Art America.

What I do is let Spirit move through me and 'come what may,' paint with colors and in a style Spirit has guided me to paint. I am looking forward to sharing my Spirit Art here in the company of such gifted souls.
